Oh Diana and Adam had me laughing. First of all, when we met last year for the first time, I could sense a kindred spirit in Diana – she is ALL about the little things, and being a fellow photographer, she is planning their reception decor with the first thought going to how it will photograph! LOVE her!! Adam, on the other hand is in it to marry Diana – not worrying so much about the detail elements of the day. I think if it were up to him, he would have them get married by a JP at his farm and then ride off into the sunset on horse back, which is just as romantic, and a lot less work, but not quite as fun to photograph, if I am being honest.
Adam is definitely the yang to Diana’s yin. I just loved their chemistry and quirkiness, and they had me totally entertained throughout the shoot with their back and forth banter. Diana is a girly-girl to the nth degree, showing up to their farm engagement session wearing 4 inch heels and a cute cocktail dress. Adam, on the other hand, is a farm boy to his core. When I arrived to photograph them, Adam was washing and brushing his cow, making sure she looked her best for the photo shoot. Meanwhile, it was all that Diana could do to convince Adam to remove his baseball cap for a few photographs. I have to say the cow did look great though… so it was well worth the effort, and Adam graciously went along with everything we asked of him during the shoot. He only grumbled a little bit when we asked him to take off his boots to wander into the water, and then asked why he couldn’t have his Star Wars sabre included in the shoot, when there were other random items like bird cages and cup cakes involved. He cracked me up.
After spending the afternoon with Diana and Adam, I am so excited to shoot their wedding in just a few weeks. It will be held on Adam’s family farm, and knowing what Diana has up her sleeve in terms of details, it sounds like it will be an amazing day to be a part of.
Thank you both for the fantastic shoot! I had so much fun! Let’s do it again soon:)
